Identify the base of a triangle in which h = 5 ft and A = (5x + 20) ft2 .

Area of a triangle = 1/2*(base*height)

5x+20 = 1/2*(base *5)
(5x+20)*2 = (1/2*(base *5))*2
10x +40 =base*5
base=2x+8

Answer: base = 2x + 8
