Kevin has 3/4 yard of string. He used 1/3 of the string for a school project. How many yards of string did he use for his project.

Total length of the string Kevin has = 3/4 yard.

He used 1/3 of the total length of the string.

We have total length 3/4 yards.

Therefore, we need to find the 1/3 of 3/4 yards.

1/3 × 3/4

We can see that we have 3 in the bottom of first fraction and 3 on the top of second fraction.

Crossing out 3's we get,

= 1/4 yards.

Therefore, he used 1/4 yards of string for his project.
