The Federalist Papers (Originally known as The Federalist) is not one paper, but in fact a group of 85 essays and articles. Those were written by James Madison, Alexander Hamilton, and John Jay. They were all written under the pseudonym "Publius" in order to advance the progress of the ratification of the United States Constitution.
