Answer:

With the rule: d(n) = d(n-1) x (-5), we have:

d(1) = 8

d(2) = d(1)x(-5) = 8x(-5) =-40

d(3) =d(2)x(-5) = -40x-5 =200

Other way:

d(n) = d(n-1) x (-5) => d(n) = d(1)x(-5)^(n-1)

d(3) = d(1)x5^(3-1) =8x5^2=8x25 =200
