Why were the low-bacteria mice in the experiment more likely to get a ​Salmonella bacteria infection?

Explanation:

Bacteria can have a very big impact on digestion  if the bacteria is low in the stomach, which in our case its the mice stomach then the digestion rate will be low and therefore salmonella can be a threat.
