Step-by-step explanation:

There are 6 sides on a standard die. Two of the numbers (1&4) are perfect squares so the chances of getting a perfect square on the first roll is 2/6. There are 4 numbers less than 5 (1,2,3,4). The chances of rolling a number less than 5 on the second roll is 4/6. The probability of two events is equal to the product of those events or in this case 2/6 x 4/6 which is 8/36. Which reduces to 2/9. That’s 22.222% or .2222
