Mean = summation data/Total frequency

Mean = (6+7+x+13+10)/5

If the mean is 8,

8 = (36+x)/5

Solve for x

36+x = 8×5

36+x = 40

x = 40-36

x = 4.

Range is the difference between the biggest and the smallest value in a given distribution.

from the above,

Range = 13-4

Range = 9
