To explain this, we are going to explain Graham's law of diffusion.

This law states that the diffusion of a gas is inversely proportional to the square root of the molar mass of its particles.

The formula that describes this:

1 is for the rate and molar mass of the first gas.

2 is for the rate and molar mass of the second gas.
