Answer

Square root property:

If [tex]y^2=b[/tex] then; [tex]y = \sqrt{b}[/tex]

Given the equation:

[tex](x-1)^2=9[/tex]

Using square root property;

Then;

[tex]x-1 = \sqrt{9}[/tex]

Simplify:

[tex]x-1 = 3[/tex]

Add 1 to both sides we have;

[tex]x = 4[/tex]

Therefore,  the strategy is the most appropriate strategy to solve [tex](x-1)^2=9[/tex] is square root property and  the value of x is 4
