A rectangular table is twice as long as it is wide. If it was 3 meters shorter and 3 meters wider it would be a square. What size is the table?

6 meters long and 6 meters wide is your answer because

 ___9 meters long___
l                                     l
l                                    3 meters wide
l_________________l

9 - 3 = 6
3 + 3 = 6
Therefore making it a perfect square
